Fees
Mindstead Psychiatry is currently an out-of-network provider. This means you are responsible for payment in full at the time of your appointment. We accept payment via credit card, and a card will be securely stored in our Electronic Medical Record system. Most insurance companies offer partial reimbursement for services provided by a psychiatrist. If your plan includes out-of-network benefits, we will be happy to provide an itemized receipt or superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Policies
New patients will be required to review, sign, and return a copy of our policies before beginning treatment. These policies are available on the patient portal and can be signed electronically. Below are some of the most frequently referenced policies.
Payment
Mindstead Psychiatry requires a credit card to be securely stored in the electronic health record system throughout your treatment. Please note that we do not accept insurance or file claims on your behalf. Payment for all services is due at the time of the appointment and will be automatically charged to the credit card we have on file.
Cancellation and No-Shows
If you cancel an appointment with at least 48 hours' notice, there will be no charge. However, fees for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance or for missed appointments will be billed to the credit card we have on file. Please note that insurance plans do not reimburse for missed appointment charges.
Telemedicine
All appointments are conducted through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform that is integrated with the Electronic Health Record to ensure privacy and confidentiality. Patients must be physically present in the state of Maryland at the time of their appointment.
Communications
To ensure your privacy, we recommend using the secure patient portal for communication between visits. The portal allows you to submit questions, request medication refills, and manage appointment scheduling.
Medicare/Medicaid
Mindstead Psychiatry is unable to provide treatment to individuals with Medicare coverage, whether as a primary or secondary insurance, due to federal regulations. If you obtain Medicare or Medicaid coverage at any point during your treatment, please notify our office promptly.
